Manga vs. Anime

Hmmmmm
I have a lot to say on this one.

Recently I started watching the anime Attack on Titan, and I couldn't wait for the second season I started reading the manga and I am already on issue 12 of the manga and I've only been reading it for two days. This allowed me to really see the difference between the anime and the manga. One thing I've noticed, especially in the Attack on Titan/Shingeki No Kyojin anime is that it narrowed down some of the heavy violence and blood and gore in that was seen in the manga. And we all know as AoT viewers that the anime is pretty violent and it is pretty subtle when viewing but there is a  ton of blood seen in a certain scenes. Like when people are eaten and stuff.

However, in the manga the violence is always seen, and it is something we cannot take our eyes off of and this adds to my experience as a reader to know how terrifying the titans really are and how it allows us to connect with the characters a bit more in the manga rather than the anime in my opinion, which allows me to favor the manga a bit more than the anime. However, I adore both of the content.

This made me realize, for a first time otaku, what truly is better to start off with? Anime or manga? I personally think that you should start out with the anime. Before you start arguing in the comments (which would be my first official comment so that would be a bad first comment)  hear me out. An anime allows the watcher to truly immerse themselves, and the manga can allow you to deeper experience and allows you to feel even more after you watch the anime. I feel like reading the manga after the anime allows this effect to be completely at its advanced effect. It allows you to understand the feelings the characters had in the anime at a far more deep perspective than in the anime and I enjoy this because it helps me comprehend scenes in the anime at a further extent because you read the manga.

However, when it really comes down to it, I really enjoy the manga a bit more than I do the anime. I love viewing the authors original art and plot that was expressed and how it develops in the manga and love seeing it transform into the anime. But, I also enjoy how it does not hide the author's original intention of the story like the anime does by eliminating some scenes for the viewers due to running time or other purposes such as violence in Attack On Titan or censoring like in Tokyo Ghoul. Therefore, I enjoy the manga more.

Arigato and Sayonora!
